Julie Holgate is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology: Counseling from the University of Baltimore. Julie has over 10 years’ experience working with individuals and groups with a focus on relationships/family concerns as well as depression & anxiety.
Julie’s clinical experiences include specialization in child & adolescent therapy including integration of family therapy as needed to help generalize changes in therapy to home, school, and community settings.
Additional areas of clinical proficiency range from daily life stressors to working with issues of substance abuse, trauma & crisis intervention. Julie has extensive experience working in crisis based clinical settings working with issues of self-harm, suicidal ideation and stabilization of un-safe behaviors.
Therapy techniques are tailored to the specific needs of each client with integrated concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-centered therapy, theoretical focus on the ‘Here and now,’ and Family Systems Theory.
